Examples of Partnership Building and Putting Community in the Center of Impact Investing In the Oxford Impact Investing Programme, there are many leaders putting community stakeholders at the center of investment. A few examples of navigators and translators in building collaborative voice in impact investing include: Social Value International is a global leader in incorporating community participation and voice into impact decision making. It is guided by seven principles: 57 Principle 1: Involve stakeholders. Inform what gets measured and how this is measured and valued in an amount of social value by involving stakeholders. Stakeholders are those people or organizations that experience change because of the activity, and they will be best placed to describe the change. Principle 2: Understand what changes. Articulate how change is created and evaluate this through evidence gathered, recognizing positive and negative changes as well as those that are intended and unintended. Principle 3: Value the things that matter. Making decisions about allocating resources between different options and need to recognize the values of stakeholders. Value refers to the relative importance of different outcomes. It is informed by stakeholder preferences. Principle 4: Only include what is material. Determine what information and evidence must be included in accounts to give a true and fair picture, such that stakeholders can draw reasonable conclusions about impact. Principle 5: Do not overclaim. Only claim the value that activities are responsible for creating. Principle 6: Be transparent. Demonstrate the basis on which the analysis may be considered accurate and honest, and who it will be reported to and discussed with, specifically stakeholders. Principle 7: Verify the results. Ensure appropriate independent assurances. Principle 8: Be responsive. Pursue optimal social value based on decision-making that is timely and supported by appropriate accounting and reporting.
