The Financials

Total Income A0 experienced total income growth between 2018 and 2024. Revenue from operations for the two main revenue producers (Forest and Local Venture Program) remained somewhat constant, apart from a single year reduction in revenues from Forest in 2023, which had recovered by 2024. By 2024, overall income growth was driven by new businesses and services, specifically Welfare, the Restaurant (BASE 101%) and Nature-Based Foods. (For purposes of this analysis, eel, deer, strawberry, rice and honey are combined into the Nature- Based Foods category.) Gross Profit Gross profit is total income from operations for each business, minus operating costs. As Figure A shows, gross profit has increased year over year, with a ¥50,000,000 increase from 2022 to 2024. During this time, the two largest businesses, Forest and Local Venture Programs, generated the most gross profit, but they remained somewhat constant over time, experiencing little growth. Newer businesses (Biodiversity Training Program, Welfare, and Nature-Based Foods) accounted for most of the growth in gross profit from 2022 to 2024.
